Google Rebrands AI Chatbot Bard To Gemini, Introduces Paid Version
Google has changed the name of its AI chatbot Bard to Gemini. They have also introduced a new, more advanced version called Gemini Ultra 1.0.
This new version is part of their Google One AI Premium Plan, which costs $19.99 per month, but there’s a free trial for two months.
Gemini is now available in over 150 countries and territories and can understand and respond in English. It will soon be available in 40 languages.
The advanced version, Gemini Advanced, includes the Ultra 1.0 model. This model is special because it can do more complex tasks like coding, creative collaboration, and even act as a personal tutor.
Google claims that in tests with independent raters, Gemini Advanced with Ultra 1.0 was chosen as the best chatbot when compared to other leading options. It’s designed for longer, more detailed conversations and can remember contexts from earlier in the conversation.
Using Gemini on a mobile phone is easy. You can type, talk, or even use images to get help from the AI. For example, you could take a photo of a flat tire and ask for instructions or design a unique image for party invitations.
To access Gemini, you can download the app on Android, use Google Assistant, or activate it using your phone’s power button or corner swiping feature. Google has added a new overlay in the phone to make it easier to get help from Gemini directly on the screen.
