US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and his opponent in the election race to the White House, Democrat Kamala Harris, is set to debate on September 10 on ABC. It’s the first face to face clash of the titans in what the poll experts are saying is a close contest.
In a news conference at his Palm Beach residence, Florida the former President said he wanted additional debates on Sept 4 and Sept 25 that would air on Fox and NBC. On the other side of the table, Harris said in a post on X that she was looking forward to the debate after Trump finally committed.

She stated that she was open to discussing more debates, but a campaign official reiterated their position that the Sept 4 Fox debate was off the table.
The Harris campaign had already opposed a Fox debate saying that the host network should be one that sponsored primary debates of both parties.
Trump previously suggested he might back out of the ABC debate scheduled before Harris replaced current president Joe Biden as the candidate from the Democrats three weeks ago. The Sept 10 debate on ABC was to be the 2nd of the two agreed upon between Biden and Trump following their June 27 debate on CNN.
According to poll experts Harris has widened her campaign reach and now leads over Trump since late July. She leads at present 42% over Trump’s 37% compared to a july 22-23 survey where it was reported her results were shown 37% to 34% over Trump.
Thursday’s Palm Beach News conference was Trump’s first news press conference after his opponent presidential candidate Kamala Harris chose Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate for Vice President’s chair on tuesday.
