Highlights of the 2024 MAMA Awards
The 2024 MAMA Awards kicked off with an electrifying Day 1 on November 21 at the iconic Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles marking the first-ever ceremony held in the United States. The event celebrated K-pop’s growing global influence blending star-studded performances with heartfelt speeches and highly anticipated award wins.
It’s the 2024 MAMA Awards debut in the U.S, and it marks K-pop’s unprecedented global expansion. Blended with iconic moments from legends to rookies, the performance defined the genre’s future as Korean Actor Park Bo-gum hosted the event.
TXT Yeonjun kicked things off with a classic high note solo, inviting the audience into an entertaining collaboration between TXT’s Beomgyu and Huening Kai, ENHYPEN’s Jay and ZEROBASEONE’s Taerae and Yujin set for a scintillating show.
Truly Show-Stopping Performances:
The night got to a peak with the live performance of “APT” the collaborative track performed by ROSÉ (BLACKPINK) and Bruno Mars. Their impromptu performance epitomised seamless integration of K-pop and international pop leaving the audience in awe.

RIIZEs channelled energy and charisma through Kick It and Get a Guitar
TWS lit up the stage and left everybody talking about their dynamite and applause that shook rhapsody.
Explosive power comes out from ILLIT and Young Posse with their charged choreographies.
K-pop’s very first legend, J.Y. Park served his fan club a dose of old-school fun with his hits such as Who’s Your Mama?
Emotional Speeches and Special Moments:
The Inspiring Achievement Award went to J.Y. Park. He gave an emotional speech contemplating his decades long career showing gratitude to fans for having been able to enjoy the good times together.
ROSÉ, crowned Best Female Solo Artist, dedicated her award to her fellow BLACKPINK members and BLINKs thanking them for their unwavering love and encouragement. Bruno Mars also shared a heartfelt message praising the universal language of music that unites artists and fans across the globe.

Day 2 goes on on November 22 at Osaka’s Kyocera Dome in Japan promising more of the most spectacular acts and more awards announcements. Day 2 has a lot on its platter with electrifying performances by groups like TXT, IVE, TREASURE and will also feature the highly-awaited SEVENTEEN performance on Day 3.
