The encirclement around Israel tightens first the rockets with exchanges of fire responses with Hezbollah from southern Lebanon. Then the trip to Teheran of the number two of the Lebanese Shiite organization to take stock with the head of the Guardians of the Revolution, Hossein Salami.

Finally, the double warning to the Jewish state: both Salami and the Hezbollah leader, Hassan Nasrallah, said they were ready for war. For his part, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett warned that “Israel does not accept shooting against its territory. The state of Lebanon and the Lebanese army must take responsibility for what is happening in their backyard. For us, it is less important whether it is a Palestinian group or independent rebels,” he stressed.

Then the Israeli premier attacked Iran and Hezbollah, which in the “serious economic and political crisis of Lebanon involve civilians in a front against Israel” and this just as “there is a critical awakening by many Lebanese citizens against Hezbollah and interference Iranian.”The leader of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, Salami, received Hezbollah’s deputy secretary-general, Naim Qassem, and warned: “Israel makes a mistake” and “it will be their death.” Then he assured that Iran has the “ability to annihilate Israel.”

During the meeting, the commander-in-chief of the Pasdaran praised the Lebanese movement for its intelligence and ability. “The enormous power of Hezbollah in the ground battles has shown that if the Hezbollah engine starts up, the Zionists will have to flee the occupied territories,” he said.

Hezbollah’s hard line

On Saturday evening, the leader of the ‘Party of God’ supported by Tehran claimed in a televised speech the rocket launches against Israel and warned: “We do not want war, but we are also ready for any future war, and we will be victorious.” For Nasrallah, Israel is afraid of a new war with Hezbollah.

“All the achievements in the 2006 war were preserved and confirmed by the Gaza fighters in May 2021. The most important success of the 2006 war was to achieve deterrence against Israel. That is the most important strategic and historical success.”
