Morocco Favored in U20 AFCON Semifinal Clash with Egypt

On Saturday at Somalia National Stadium, Morocco Atlas Cubs face off with Egypt Young Pharaohs in the eagerly-awaited U20 AFCON semifinal on Saturday starting 7 p.m. Moroccan Time. Head coach Mohammed Ouahbi showed great confidence in his squad after the massive quarterfinal win that confirmed Morocco for the World Cup 2003. This marks their third World Cup appearance after 1997 and 2005.
“We are very, very happy to have qualified for the World Cup; however, our ultimate goal is the final,” Ouahbi told reporters during Wednesday’s pre-match conference. The Atlas Cubs will be entering the match with heavy momentum, having gone four straight victories without a first in the nation’s tournament history. This will be the fourth time Morocco has made it to the semifinals.

Analysts prefer Morocco in today’s match because of the Tips.GG awards Atlas Cubs 43% chance to win, while their opponents, Egypt, are given a little 25%; however, Azscore points out 2-0 win for Morocco.
