Qatar Initiative Aims to Boost Syria's Power Generation

The leadership of Qatar began supplying natural gas from Jordan to Syria because Syrian citizens needed urgent power solutions due to ongoing war conditions. The Qatar Development Fund’s representative Khalifa Abdullah Al Sharif disclosed that his organization will establish 400 megawatts of electricity production and progressively increase the power output.

The Syrian Electricity Minister Omar Shaqrouq praised this development when he told reporters that the supplied gas from Qatar will drive the nation’s energy sector by two million cubic meters each day. New power generation from Qatar’s support will offer 2 to 4 hours more electricity daily so Syrian people can face fewer energy problems under their damaged power structures. As a key part of their recovery plan, the new Syrian officials emphasize solving the urgent energy problem.

According to the SANA news agency, Shaqrouq this move would help Syrian citizens and their essential services. Through its leadership role, Qatar works with Jordanian energy routes to help Syria deal with humanitarian problems in the region.
