Where and How to Apply for Your Saudi Arabia Work Visa?
The applicant for a Saudi work visa must be the employer. The steps you must take in order to get a visa and a resident permit in Saudi Arabia are as follows:
- The Saudi Arabian Interior Ministry requires the supporting employer to register.
- The Ministry will create an immigration dossier for the employer that contains data on all of its foreign employees.
- The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Labor will receive an application for a work visa from the employer.
- The Ministry of Labor will inform the Ministry of Foreign Affairs when the application is accepted. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will provide a visa authorization number within two weeks.
- The employee will submit the required paperwork for an employment visa to the appropriate Saudi embassy, along with their application, and wait one to three weeks for approval before traveling to Saudi Arabia.
- The employee must submit an application to the Ministry of Labor for a residency permit, or Iqama, in Saudi Arabia.
- The approved application will be forwarded by the Ministry of Labor to the Ministry of Interior, where the Directorate General for Passports will issue the Iqama.
Iqamas, which serve as proof of a person’s legal right to reside and work in Saudi Arabia, should be carried at all times by employees.
The employee must apply for an exit/re-entry permission from the Ministry of Interior if they intend to leave and re-enter Saudi Arabia while they are employed there. Usually, this permit is granted within a week.
What Are Saudi Arabia Work Visa Fees 2023?
The process for obtaining a work visa for Saudi Arabia is broken down as follows. The total payment would be SAR 7,200 if the employer supporting your work visa employs more than 50% Saudi citizens.
The price includes SAR 750 for the Iqama, and SAR 6,000 and SAR 450, respectively, for the work visa and insurance.
Please take note that if your sponsoring company hires more than 50% foreign workers, the total cost would rise to SAR 8,400, with the work visa price being SAR 7,200.
