- The employee will submit the required paperwork for an employment visa to the appropriate Saudi embassy, along with their application, and wait one to three weeks for approval before traveling to Saudi Arabia.
- The employee must submit an application to the Ministry of Labor for a residency permit, or Iqama, in Saudi Arabia.
- The approved application will be forwarded by the Ministry of Labor to the Ministry of Interior, where the Directorate General for Passports will issue the Iqama.
Iqamas, which serve as proof of a person’s legal right to reside and work in Saudi Arabia, should be carried at all times by employees.
