Saudi club Al-Nassr keen to sign 28-year-old Barcelona outcast
Al-Nassr Football Club (FC), a professional football club based in Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is interested in signing Barcelona outcast Clement Lenglet.
Clement Lenglet, a 28 year old French professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for La Liga club Barcelona and the France national team, had been in the lower rungs of Barcelona’s pecking order. He was put up on a sale. According to reports, Barcelona held talks to officials to sell Clement Lenglet to Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr.
According to Fichajes, Al-Nassr has expressed serious interest in signing Lenglet in the ongoing summer transfer window. Reportedly, the club is willing to make Lenglet a decent offer to move to Saudi Arabia.
Reportedly, the Saudi FC aims to strengthen their defense for a title push in the next campaign. The club already signed Cristiano Ronaldo in January. The FC also added Marcelo Brozovic and Sadio Mane during the summer transfer window.
Last month, Al-Nassr signed Sadio Mane, a Senegalese professional footballer who plays for Bundesliga club Bayern Munich and the Senegal national team. The club also hired Luís Manuel Ribeiro de Castro as its new manager.
The FC also signed Seko Fofana, a professional footballer and Ivory Coast midfielder. Al Nassr wrote on Twitter, “Al Nassr has officially signed with the Ivorian star Seko Fofana.”
Earlier, Ghislain Konan and David Ospina also joined the club. Ghislain Konan plays as a left-back for Saudi Professional Al Nassr club. David Ospina, a Colombian professional footballer, plays as a goalkeeper for Saudi Professional League club Al Nassr.
Ronaldo plays as a forward for and captains the Saudi Professional League club Al Nassr. Recently, he said, “I opened the way to the Saudi league and now all the players are coming here.” He also said that he won’t return to any European club.
