Saudi crown prince receives Palestinian President
Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), received Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday in Jeddah, a Saudi Arabian port city on the Red Sea.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Saudi Crown Prince and the Palestinian President discussed the situation in the Palestinian Territories. During the meeting, they stressed the need to continue the efforts to guarantee the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and establish their independent state. They emphasised the need to make East Jerusalem, the sector of Jerusalem, as the capital of their independent state. They further discussed the continuous violence in the Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories. President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Monday. He wanted to hold meetings with Saudi Arabia’s King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS).

Reportedly, Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz invited the Palestinian President to the Kingdom. Deputy Governor of Makkah Al-Mukarramah Region, Prince Badr bin Sultan, received the Palestinian President from King Abdulaziz International Airport on Monday.
Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Hussein Al-Sheikh, and the head of the Palestinian Intelligence Service, Majed Faraj, also accompanied Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
Palestinian President’s visit to Saudi Arabia coincides with a senior Hamas delegation’s arrival in the country, according to Palestinian media reports. However, Saudi Arabia did not comment on the reported visit.
According to the Palestinian media reports, the Hamas delegation will talk to Saudi officials on various regional issues and Palestinian issues.
On April 14, the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, the Sultanate of Oman, Kuwait, Iraq and Bahrain participated in a “consultative meeting.” They reportedly condemned “Israel’s illegal practices that undermine the two-state solution and attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque.” They agreed to put an end to the suffering of the Palestinian people.
