Turkiye Ranks 3rd in the World in the 2025 Blue Flag Beaches

Turkiye has now been ranked third in the world in terms of number of Blue Flag beaches in 2025, according to Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy. In 2025, Türkiye is proud to be able to say that it has:
- 577 Blue Flag beaches
- 29 marinas
- 18 buoys that are certified as tourism boats
- 8 certified yachts
The Blue Flag is an award given by the Foundation for Environmental education (FEE) to beaches and marinas that meet impressive cleanliness and environmental and hygiene standards.
- Most Blue Flag beaches
- Antalya – 233 beaches
- Muğla – 110 beaches
- İzmir – 64 beaches
- Others: Balıkesir (48); Aydın (39); Samsun (16); Mersin & Çanakkale (12 each)
Marinas and boats:
Muğla had the most blue flag marinas (10)
Antalya had the most certified tourism boats (13)
Total number of Blue Flag beaches in Türkiye increased from 569 in 2024 to 577 in 2025, which illustrates that Türkiye has a higher awareness of environmental understanding and as well coastal protection.
This is another significant achievement that demonstrates Türkiye is recognizing its popularity in sustainable tourism and concerns of keeping our coasts clean and aesthetically pleasing.
