Umrah permits during Ramadan available through the Nusuk app

Citizens in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and pilgrims from other countries can obtain permits to perform Umrah during Ramadan by logging into the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah’s Nusuk app.
The Nusuk app is the first-ever official planning, booking and experience platform, to book Hajj or Umrah in Saudi Arabia. It comes under the responsibility of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, a government ministry in Saudi Arabia responsible for supervising pilgrims’ secure transportation and movement to the holy cities of Mecca and Medina.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah said that the Nusuk app would help pilgrims to find available Umrah dates during the holy month of Ramadan, based on the capacity of the Grand Mosque in Mecca. Domestic and international pilgrims can choose the most suitable dates and obtain the permits to perform Umrah. The Nusuk app can be downloaded from the Apple Store and Google Play Store. It is available for iOS and Android users.
Who is eligible for Umrah permits?
- International pilgrims must be in possession of a valid visa in order to obtain a permit to perform Umrah, according to the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
- Domestic pilgrims can obtain the permit by providing information that they do not have COVID-19 and have not been in contact with infected people.
- Domestic pilgrims can also obtain permits through the Tawakkalna app.
What did the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah say?
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah urged pilgrims to ensure they obtain the required permits to perform Umrah during Ramadan and stick to the mentioned date to avoid overcrowding. Pilgrims are only allowed to perform Umrah once during Ramadan. According to Saudi officials, these rules would help ensure the comfort and safety of pilgrims during the holy month of Ramadan, which is expected to begin on or around March 23.
