As of August 1, 2022, L’Oréal heiress Francoise Bettencourt Meyers is the richest woman in the world with a net worth of around $74.9 billion, followed by Alice Walton (No. 2, $61.6 billion), Julia Koch (No. 3, $56.6 billion), and Mackenzie Scott (No. 4, $39.9 billion).
Jacqueline Mars is the sixth richest woman in the world, with a staggering $32.9 billion to her name. Gina Rinehart placed sixth with $28.8 billion in personal worth, followed by Miriam Adelson with $28.0 billion. Susanne Klatten ranks eighth with a $23.7 billion net worth. Abigail Johnson ($20,3 billion) ranked ninth on the list of the top 10 wealthiest women in the world, followed by Iris Fontbona ($18,1 billion) at number ten.
The world’s wealthiest woman is Francoise Bettencourt Meyers, the granddaughter of the founder of L’Oreal. Bettencourt Meyers and her family own around 33 percent of L’Oreal’s shares. She has been a member of L’Oreal’s board of directors since 1997 and serves as CEO of the family holding company.
In 2017, when her mother Liliane Bettencourt, the world’s wealthiest woman at the time, passed away at age 94, she inherited the L’Oreal fortune.

Bettencourt Meyers is also the president of her family’s philanthropic foundation, which promotes scientific and artistic advancement in France.
Following the April 2019 fire at Notre Dame Cathedral, L’Oreal and the Bettencourt Meyers family decided to donate $226 million to the restoration effort.
