WWE Roster Shake-Up: Multiple Stars Released Under TKO Regime

The WWE conducted a comprehensive talent release on Friday May 2 2025 which removed experienced wrestlers together with developmental talent from its roster because of TKO Group Holdings’ organizational restructuring process.

All sections of WWE personnel suffered reductions post-restructuring as both currently performing main event talent and NXT developmental talent experienced termination. WWE executed this mass release of corporate and digital personnel just before releasing numerous performers through their talent purge.

The most recognizable departures from the main roster included Shayna Baszler and Braun Strowman as well as Dakota Kai and tag team performers Kayden Carter and Katana Chance. Various wrestling organizations have shown substantial interest to acquire Dakota Kai according to reports.

The NXT developmental system saw even more extensive cuts, including:

  • Rising stars Cora Jade and Gigi Dolin
  • The entire Gallus faction (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey, and Wolfgang)
  • Developing talents like Jakara Jackson, Eddy Thorpe, and Riley Osborne
