Another report from the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) slightly adjusted the magnitude to 5.6.
The earthquake was likely felt by many people close to the epicenter but was not expected to cause major damage. Minor incidents like objects falling, cracked windows, or broken items might have been reported.
In Karakenja a town with a population of 2,900 located 33 km from the epicenter, and Daroot-Korgon, 39 km away with 6,400 residents, the shaking was described as light. Cities further away, like Fergana (121 km) and Margilan (131 km), may have experienced weak tremors.
