Barcelona and Al-Ahli reach agreement over €15m deal for Romano
Barcelona, a professional football club based in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, and Al-Ahli, a professional football club based in Jeddah, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, have reached a verbal agreement over the €15 million transfer of Franck Kessie, an Ivorian professional footballer. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona and Al-Ahli checked the documents before signing the deal for the midfielder.
Franck Yannick Kessie, an Ivorian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for La Liga club Barcelona and the Ivory Coast national team, was reluctant to leave Barcelona this summer. Now, there is an agreement between Barcelona and Al-Ahli. Reportedly, Kessie also agreed on personal terms over a three-year contract until 2026. According to sources and some media reports, Kessie can get around €20 million per season at the Saudi Pro League outfit.
Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli was showing interest in the 26-year-old. Earlier, Barcelona and Al-Ahli were unable to reach an agreement on a deal. Later on, they again started talks to finalise the deal. Now, the midfielder is set to join the Saudi club.
Earlier, the Saudi club signed Riyad Mahrez, Roberto Firmino, Edouard Mendy, and Allan Saint-Maximin. In late July, Riyad Mahrez took part in his first training session with the team in Austria. He was signed on a deal worth 35 million euros with five million extra in add-ons. After joining the club, he said, “To Al-Ahli fans, I am here for you guys. I am very excited and happy to be part of this great club.”
Matthias Jaissle, a German professional football manager, also joined the FC as the manager. He thanked the Saudi club for hiring him. Recently, Al-Ahli Saudi Football Club said it wanted to sign Sofyan Amrabat, a popular footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Serie A club Fiorentina.
