Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) to be officially released on this date

GTA fans, assemble. Rockstar Games has made an official announcement. The highly anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) has been delayed from 2025 to May 26, 2026. But it is better to be late than never, right?
In its statement, Rockstar apologized as the release date is “later than you expected”. But the company highlighted that the interest and excitement surrounding GTA 6 “has been truly humbling for our entire team.”
Rockstar’s statement confirms the GTA 6 release date. But there is no mention of launch platforms, leading to some speculating that GTA 6 could be releasing on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S in May 2026.
The delay in release definitely opens up the second half of 2025 to a number of other games. Perhaps, there is a little bit of more breathing room to succeed. But those planning for a launch in or around May next year might probably need to rethink their strategy.
