Jazeera Airways CEO Invests $15 Million in Own Airline

Jazeera Airways founder Barathan Pasupathi showed strong faith in his own company by spending more than $15 million to buy almost 50,000 shares of its stock. The trading period fell between March 9 and 10 as part of an official Bourse Kuwait report showing Pasupathi invested KD4.7 million in the company.

As Jazeera Airways implements its five-year expansion plan it sought funding because the airline aims to double its passenger base by 2029. By 2026 Jazeera Airways will introduce larger aircraft with a total seat number increase to 180 per plane this year. The airline aims to increase its market share in regional aviation by further growing its service.

Jazeera Airways stock opened strong on Thursday and achieved its high mark at 962 Kuwaiti fils when investors reacted positively to the news of the growth plan. Mr. Pasupathi showed company faith by investing most of his shares at prices between 920 and 950 fils regardless of how the stock value had dipped by 5 percent from the earlier year. According to Sico Bank from Bahrain, the CEO’s investment shows his faith in the airline’s business decisions.
