Kuwait Launches e-Visa System to Encourage Open Borders and Global Relations

In an unprecedented way to modernize travel services and encourage international relationships, Kuwait has launched an electronic visa (or e-visa) service. This service will allow tourists, families, business travelers, and officials to travel with ease.This new service system, which Kuwaiti authorities launched earlier this week, will help realize the country’s larger objective of becoming an international hub for tourism, trade, investments, and global cooperation.

What types of visas are available?

Tourist Visa: Good for 90 days, this visa is for travel that allows tourists to learn about and enjoy Kuwait’s museums, traditional souks, and picturesque coastal areas. Family 

Visit Visa: Good for 30 days, this approval allows residents to invite family to their home country for brief, family-stay visits 

Business Visa: Also valid for 30 days, this visa meets the travel needs of professionals to meet in Kuwait for commerce-related discussions. 

Official Visa: This visa serves diplomats, international delegations, and formal visits made and approved by the government.

How to Get the e-Visa for Kuwait 

Getting the e-Visa is an easy and entirely online process. Visitors can go to the formal Ministry of Interior website, find all visa types with eligible criteria that detail how to apply for them. Utilizing a digital approach to visas eliminates the need for paperwork, saves time, and accelerates the approval process. 

GCC Grand Tours Visa  

Besides the electronic visa, Kuwait is gearing up for the GCC Grand Tours Visa, a multi-country permit card that allows travelers to roam freely across six Gulf countriesThe plans are still in the pre-launch stage, but, when implemented will offer tourists the ability to travel freely and promote tourism throughout the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
