Real Iraq War film ‘Warfare’ to be screened in USA on May 21

The film Warfare will be shown today at 7 p.m. at the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts. Inspired by the United States’ Iraq War, the film is written and directed by Ray Mendoza (Iraq War veteran and creator of Civil War) and Alex Garland (Iraq War veteran and other films including 28 Days Later).
Warfare provides a chronological experience, or even a “real-time experience”, of an American Navy SEAL platoon in Iraq. It’s an examination and interpretation of modern warfare told purely from a ‘boots on the ground’ perspective. Warfare is 95 minutes long and rated R.
In the coming days, Reg Lenna will also exhibit:
- The Ballad of Wallis Island (music comedy) is on May 28 at 7 p.m.
- The Legend of Ochi (fantasy adventure) on May 30 at 7 p.m.
- Pride (2014 historically themed film) during Jamestown Pride week on June 4 at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $8 at the box office, $10 online (reglenna.com) and also by phone at 716-484-7070. Family showings are $7 at the box office, and $9 online and via phone. Prices vary for special events.
116 E. Third St. Jamestown is the theater’s address. The box office is open M, W, F 12p – 5p and 1hr before shows begin.
