New round of killings pushes Israel and West Bank towards agitated status quo

Israel–Sunday was a day of bloodshed in West Bank. In separate incidents Israeli forces shot down two Palestinian women after one ran towards stationed troops while the other stabbed a soldier. The incidents follow a series of deadly Arab attacks in Israel.
“A new wave of terrorism”, as called by the Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, West Bank city of Jenin has been a centre of raids by Israeli police. Jenin is a militant stronghold and is now under Israeli target in response to the two deadly attacks in Tel Aviv by two men from the West Bank city. As the Israeli forces launched the offensive, Prime Minister Bennett issued a stark warning on Sunday that Israel has now “gone on the offensive”.
The woman who was shot dead by Israeli soldiers as she continued approaching the troops in Bethlehem, despite warning shots by the soldiers, was not found to be in possession of any weapons. The Israeli military has confirmed that an investigation has been launched. Regarding the second incident, a woman was killed by Israeli police in Hebron after she wounded a paramilitary border policeman with a knife outside Al Ibrahimi Mosque.

Israeli police has been on a high alert and on offensive, as said by Bennett, since three members of Arab community in Israel were attacked and wo Palestinians from West Bank reportedly killed 14 people in Israel since March. The country is clearly on edge as the killing spree continues to put the status quo between Israel and West Bank in an agitated bracket.
Prime Minister Bennett said from Tel Aviv, “There are not and will not be limits for this war. We are granting full freedom of action to the army, the Shin Bet [domestic intelligence agency] and all security forces in order to defeat the terror.” He continued, “Every murderer knows we will find them, everyone who helps a terrorist should know that they will pay a heavy price.”
