Western World Complicit in Israel-Hamas War: Jordan Queen Rania
Queen Rania of Jordan has rapped western leaders for keeping mum about the atrocities against civilians in Gaza by Israel against its war on Hamas. She expressed shock, disappointment and disbelief.
Rania said the world immediately and unequivocally stood by Israel for the October 7 attack. They have positioned with Israel in its right to defend itself. “But what we’re seeing in the last couple of weeks, we’re seeing silence in the world.”
She pointed out that what’s happening in Gaza is the first time in modern history for such human suffering. Queen Rania expressed dismay that the world is not even calling for a ceasefire. “So the silence is deafening, and to many in our region, it makes the Western world complicit.”
Over 2,000 Children Killed in Israel-Hamas War
Rania said the people of Jordan are united in grief, pain and shock because of the staggering civilian casualties of the past 18 days in Gaza. Latest data suggests more than 5,000, including over 2,000 children have been killed in Israeli strikes
“We have seen Palestinian mothers who have had to write the names of their children on their hands, because the chances of them being shelled to death, of their bodies turning into corpses – are so high.”
The Jordan Queen reminded the world that Palestinian mothers love their children just as much as any mother in the world. “And for them to have to go through this, it’s just unbelievable. Are we being told that it is wrong to kill a family, an entire family, at gunpoint, but it’s OK to shell them to death? I mean, there is a glaring double standard here. It is just shocking to the Arab world.”

Jordan Doesn’t Support Displacement of Palestinians
Rania added that Jordan condemns the killing of any civilian, whether it’s a Palestinian or an Israeli. “It’s also the position of Islam – prohibits Muslims to kill a woman, child or elderly person, to destroy a tree, or hurt a priest.” She emphasized that rules of engagement should apply to all sides, and Israel is committing atrocities under the guise of self-defense.
King of Jordan Abdullah II warned last week about the displacement of Palestinians to Egypt and Jordan. He said it would be a red line and neither Jordan nor Egypt would accept refugees from Gaza. Abdullah believes this is the plan by the usual suspects to create de facto issues on the ground.
Queen Rania said the people of Gaza have two choices – between expulsion or extermination, between ethnic cleansing and genocide. “And no people should be given, should have to face, that kind of choice. The people of Palestine should not, the people of Gaza should not, be forced to be moved again.”
