Gun Violence Claims Seven Lives in Istanbul Tragedy

A tragic incident happened in Istanbul! A 33-year-old man shot and killed seven people, including his parents, wife, and 10-year-old son. Authorities reported the case on Monday, revealing that the man took his own life after the attack.
The suspect was found dead in his car shortly after the shooting. Two other family members were also injured in this deadly shooting. According to a statement from the Istanbul governor’s office one person is deadly injured.
Initially officials believed the death toll was four, but further investigation on Monday led to the discovery of more victims. Bodies of the man’s wife, son, and mother-in-law were found near a lake on Istanbul’s European shore.
This incident highlights the widespread presence of firearms in Turkiye. According to the Small Arms Survey, there are over 13.2 million firearms in circulation in the country, most of them unregistered, for a population of 85 million.
