Kuwait Champions Arab Tourism Development at Regional Ministerial Council Meeting

During the 27th session of the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism, which was held at the headquarters of the Arab League, Kuwait strongly re-emphasized its firm support for the development of the Arab tourism sector. Dr. Naser Muhaisen, speaking on behalf of Kuwait’s Minister of Information and Culture, underlined the need for cooperation in the development of tourism resources and the creation of efficient economic activity in the Arab countries.

While speaking at the high-level meeting Muhaisen underlined the strategies that could be adopted by Arab countries for developing a better ecosystem of tourism within the Arab region building up the confidence among the regional tourists and promoting tourism-related intra-regional connectivity. He accepted the fact that the sphere of tourism in the modern world faces numerous difficulties and underlined the necessity of the combined effort to overcome them. The Kuwaiti delegation headed by Muhaisen joined by the Kuwait’s Ambassador to the Kingdom, Talal Al-Mutairi demanded a thorough approach based on the perspective of developing different strategies that can make tourism one of the key pillars of sustainable economic and social development.

The session also acknowledged leadership changes with Muhaisen thanking Qatar Tourism Chairman Saad Al-Kharji for his leadership during the previous and wishing Oman’s Minister of Heritage and Tourism Salem Al-Mahrouqi for the current session.
