After Iraq And Syria, Iran Launches Missiles On Pakistan
Iran and Pakistan have recently been involved in a tense situation. In 2019, Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari, a high-ranking officer in Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, demanded more freedom to act against Pakistan.
This demand came after a terrorist group called Jaish-al-Adl, which Iran says Pakistan supports, killed 27 Iranian guards in a suicide attack.
Jafari accused Pakistan’s army and its intelligence agency, the ISI, of giving shelter to these terrorists. He warned that Iran would take strong actions against Pakistan for this.
Iran’s then-president, Hassan Rouhani, also spoke with Pakistan’s prime minister, Imran Khan, asking him to take strict action against these anti-Iranian terrorists. Rouhani suggested that other countries, like the USA and Saudi Arabia, might be using Pakistan to cause problems for Iran.
Five years later, Iran has taken more direct actions under Iran’s new president Ebrahim Raisi. Iranian forces destroyed the Pakistani headquarters of Jaish al-Adl using missile strikes.

This group, Jaish al-Adl, is known for its attacks against Iran, including several recent ones that killed Iranian police officers.
Jaish al-Adl was formed after its parent group Jundallah’s leader, Abdolmalek Rigi, was executed by Iran in 2010. Rigi had claimed to fight for the rights of Sunni Muslims in Shiite-majority Iran. However, Iran executed him for leading attacks against Iranian forces and civilians.
Yesterday, Iran targeted two bases of Jaish al-Adl in Pakistan’s Balochistan province. Iran said they destroyed these bases because they were used for attacks against Iran.
But Pakistan was very upset about this. They said two children were killed in these strikes and called it a violation of their sovereignty. Pakistan warned Iran that this could lead to serious consequences.
This situation is tricky because Iran and Pakistan often accuse each other of letting militants use their land to launch attacks. But it’s rare for the official military forces of either country to directly engage like this.
As of now, tensions are high between Iran and Pakistan because of these missile strikes and the ongoing conflict with the militant group Jaish al-Adl.
Iran is taking a stronger stance against what it sees as Pakistan’s support for this group, and Pakistan is objecting to Iran’s military actions on its territory. This situation could affect their relations and regional stability.
