Algeria Reaffirms Support for Lebanon Following Continued Israeli Violations

Algeria stands in strong support of Lebanon as its army remains under Israeli occupation that breaks Lebanese borders.

The Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs released an announcement to confirm that State Minister Attaf accepted a phone call from Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam. The government officials spoke about southern Lebanon and their conversation covered both the ceasefire terms and Israeli troop departure from Lebanese lands.

Attaf declared that Algeria stands by Lebanon and he demands that Israel end attacks while highlighting Algeria’s role on the United Nations Security Council to help the nation.

After the ceasefire agreement took effect between Beirut and Tel Aviv on November 27, 2024, Israeli occupation forces were required to leave southern Lebanon by January 26 according to the terms of the settlement. Washington announced an extended deadline from its original January 26 date since Tel Aviv did not complete its pullout schedule.

After breaking their agreement previously Israeli military units stated they needed unlimited time for withdrawal on Wednesday. Following reports an Israeli broadcaster shared Tel Aviv wanted another ten days to February 28 but Lebanon refused.

Official Lebanese sources from Anadolu show that since the arrangement started 82 days ago Israel has broken it 923 times and it caused 73 fatalities plus 265 injuries.
