Asian Games 2023: Mohamed Tolu wins third medal for Saudi Arabia

Shot-putter Mohamed Tolu from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has won the third medal for his country at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China.
Saudi Arabia’s Mohamed Tolu won silver medal in the shot put competition at Asian Games 2023 on Sunday. It was the Kingdom’s third medal at the Asian Games.
Tajinderpal Singh Toor from the Republic of India secured a gold medal in the shot put competition at Asian Games. During the competition, Saudi Arabia’s Mohamed Tolu was leading with a best throw of 19.93 meters. However, Tajinderpal Singh Toor registered a win at his final attempt. He won a gold medal with a massive throw of 20.36 meters in his final attempt. Subsequently, Saudi Arabia’s Mohamed Tolu won the silver medal with a throw of 20.18 meters.
Success for Saudi Arabia at Asian Games 2023
Saudi Arabia has witnessed success at Asian Games 2023. Abdullah Abkar Mohammed, a Saudi sprinter, qualified for the final of the 200 meters by winning his semifinal in 20.59 seconds. Saudi athlete Badr Al-Omrani finished eighth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase final in 8 minutes, 49.19 seconds.
Saudi runner Yousef Masrahi won Saudi Arabia’s first gold medal at Asian Games 2023. He won the competition in the men’s 400m race in 45.55 seconds. Bahrain’s Youssef Al-Abbas and Japan’s Kantaro Sato gave him tough competition but Yousef Masrahi won the race.

Yousef Masrahi already holds three medals during his participation in three Asian Games. He won a bronze medal in the 400 meter race in the Asian Games in 2010, a gold medal in Incheon in the Asian Games 2014, and a gold medal in Hangzhou 2022.
