Egyptian Team Clinches Silver at 25th CISM Military Equestrian Event

Egypt took the silver medal at the 25th CISM World Military Equestrian Championship in the team competition. The respected event was held in Cairo’s Kayan Equestrian Club in the New Administrative Capital from May 5-8 under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
Italy showed incredible talent to take the gold medal, and Qatar did put a bow on the podium with the final position of the cup carry holder. The championship included military riders from 20 countries competing on the world highest level of equestrian showjumping.
Russian riders furthered their strong tradition with a silk bank performance, while Egyptian competitors were delighted with the home crowd as they claimed a bronze.
Representing the true international nature of a military equestrian sport, the four-day tournament attracted athletes from four continents – as far away as from Brazil to France, and from Estonia and Spain.
This symbol of a championship demonstrated the CISM motto, “Friendship through Sport,” and, further added to Egypt’s emerging status for hosting international military sporting events.
Qatar also received a special award (CISM “Friendship through Sport”) during the closing ceremony, for their contribution to the spirit of the games.
