Forbes real-time billionaires list keep shedding light on the immense fortune of some of the richest people on the planet. But the list has also highlighted a couple more facts.
1. The combined fortune of the first and second billionaires on the list amounts to almost $700 billion.
2. The disparity at the summit of global riches is quite shocking. There is a nearly $200 billion difference to pay attention to.
Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk recently made headlines as he became the first person to surpass $400 billion in fortune. On December 14, his fortune is estimated at $439.4 billion. Jeff Bezos comes in second at $241.2 billion.

Elon Musk co-founded at least 7 companies, including space exploration company SpaceX and electric car maker Tesla. He bought social media giant X in a $44 billion deal in 2022. Forbes has given the 53-year-old a self-made score of 8.
2. Jeff Bezos
Jeff Bezos co-founded Amazon in 1994. He recently left his position as the CEO of the e-commerce giant. In 2020, Bezos committed to donate $10 billion to climate causes by 2030. The 60-year-old has been given a self-made score of 8.
3. Larry Ellison
Larry Ellison is the chairman, CTO and co-founder of Oracle. He gave up the CEO position at the company in 2014 after 37 years at the helm. Ellison’s fortune is valued at $218.3 billion as of December 14. Forbes has given the 80-year-old a self-made score of 9.
4. Mark Zuckerberg
Mark Zuckerberg started Facebook in 2014 at the age of 19. He took Facebook public in 2012. In 2015, he and his partner, Priscilla Chan, pledged to donate 99% of their Meta stake over their lifetimes. He has been given a self-made score of 8.
5. Bernard Arnault & Family
Bernard Arnault keeps a close eye on the LVMH empire of 75 fashion and cosmetic brands, including Louis Vuitton and Sephora. His fortune is valued at $171.3 billion as of December 14. His father made a small fortune in construction.
