Hesham Mahran has been announced as the new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Orange Egypt, effective August 1, 2025. Mahran is replacing Yasser Shaker, who will now be the Chairman at Orange Egypt following his new appointment as Chief Executive Officer of Orange Middle East & Africa.

Seasoned Telecom Leader with 25+ Years’ Expertise

Mahran has 25+ years of telecommunications and IT experience beginning at Mobinil, now in Orange Egypt. He also worked in companies such as Tarek Nour Communications and DHL Egypt. He did an MBA in Business Administration and worked in multiple strategic leadership roles in Orange Egypt.

As Chief Business Officer most recently, he has led the Enterprise division to support corporate strategy and integrated telecom solutions. During his time with Orange Egypt, he led major digital transformation projects including the establishment and management of the New Administrative Capital’s Data Center.

A Vote of Confidence in Egyptian Digital Talent

His designation is indicative of Orange Group’s confidence in a local capability and a decisive intent to grow in Egypt. Entrusting Mahran with such a significant infrastructure initiative as the data centre is additionally testament to his ability to both operationalize and technically supervise. 

Ultimately, he intends to lead improved growth in enterprise services, a larger digital infrastructure platform and deployment of next generation telecom services.
