IMF Welcome Syria’s Efforts to Rebuild Global Ties

By all accounts, a country like Syria has been in a lot of hard times. For over ten years, war after war to war caused havoc in the land; cities were ruined; and the people started facing terrible hardships. There is then, however, a hope.
IMF and World Bank have just acknowledged to themselves that they are happy that the world is on the path to helping Syria put itself back into the global fold bit like welcoming an old friend back into the gang after quite a long time.
Something significant did take place this week in Washington. For the first time in over two decades, Syria sent its financial mourning top brass head of its central bank and its finance minister to the spring meetings of the IMF and World Bank. This denotes Syria intending to relate with world countries.
Kristalina Georgieva, the lady who heads the IMF, put it straight: the organization has only one aim: helping Syria to build its infrastructure back so that it can once again relate to the world’s economy.
You see, over the years, war has devastated infrastructure in Syria-which sadly started when President Bashar Al-Assad suppressed the continuous flow of protestors asking for democracy. After December, following the ousting of Bashar Al-Assad, the new Syrian government has been working day and night to mend relationships with many countries.
