Iranian and Chinese Foreign Ministers discuss nuclear deal in Munich
Iranian and Chinese foreign ministers Mohammad Jawad Zarif and Wang Yi discussed a nuclear deal and a coronavirus on Friday, the Iranian foreign ministry said.
Other topics of discussion were the US operation in Iraq, during which the Iranian general Kassem Suleimani was killed, and the crash of a Ukrainian plane, shot down by mistake of Iranian air defense.
“The Foreign Ministers of Iran and China during the meeting on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference exchanged views on the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan, the death of General Suleymani and the Ukrainian plane,” the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s Telegram channel said, details of their conversation are not given.
Another topic of negotiations was the coronavirus – Zarif thanked his Chinese counterpart for cooperation and assistance in the evacuation of Iranian students from the city of Wuhan, the epicenter of the virus, and also appreciated the actions of the PRC authorities in the situation with the virus.
There are currently no officially reported cases of coronavirus infection in Iran. At the same time, there were several suspicions of the disease, and there was information in the media about the death associated with the coronavirus, which the authorities did not confirm.
As the virus spread, Tehran decided to suspend flights with China and quarantine people arriving in Iran, whose departure point was China.
