Kuwait is ranked 30th just ahead of Saudi Arabia in the 2025 World Happiness Report by Oxford University with Gallup and the UN. The reporting using data gathered from around the world from 2022 to 2024 on how satisfied people feel with their lives showed Kuwait ranked as the 2nd happiest in the Gulf region.

Why are People in Kuwait Happy?

Kuwait scored well for strength of community and generosity. For donations, Kuwait ranked 33rd, volunteering (46th), and helping strangers (27th).

  • Kuwait also performed well on the economic and social freedom indicators
  • The GDP per person is also around $45,089 ranking 29th.
  • Around 88.2 % of people feel free to make life decisions, ranking 42nd in the world.

Points for Improvement

While Kuwait performed well overall, there are areas for improvement:

Kuwaiti people are only slightly above average at 78% if they feel they have strong social support, putting it ranked 87th on this factor. There also needs to be progress on better trust and transparency from public institutions.
