Kuwait’s Sahel App Adds Arrest Warrant & Court Summons Requests

Kuwait’s Ministry of Justice has taken an important step toward a digital transformation by adding arrest and summons request functionality to its Sahel mobile app. The service was launched this week, enabling lawyers, police, and individuals to request an arrest warrant or court summons via their mobile phones and track the status, thus removing the need to visit a ministry office in person.
Users start with logging into the app, pressing the ‘Arrest & Summons Request”, filling out information relating to the current case, and adding any supporting documents needed. The app will give a reference number, and any updates during the process will be sent by push notification across all status checks as it flows through the system, verification, approval, and final issuance. The real-time status of requests promotes transparency and trims processing time from several days to mere hours.
The Sahel app has extended to other government departments as well and has service also many functionalities, including payment of traffic fines, application of residency permits and renewals, etc. The office aims to facilitate the judicial administration process and improve access to legal services within the community.
Early users have described this update as convenient and dependable, and that it reduces paperwork and bureaucratic delays. As Kuwait drives its e‑governance agenda the Sahel app leads the way by enhancing the efficiency and user satisfaction of the justice sector using technology.
