Lockheed, Raytheon, Boeing: China’s Sanctions List Expands Amid Taiwan Conflict

China has imposed sanctions on 10 US defense firms for their involvement in arms sales to Taiwan. This action by China is increasing tensions between Beijing and Washington.

China has sanctioned seven other US military firms, including Boeing’s subsidiary In Situ last week and on Thursday they have announced sanctions on 28 more US entities. The recent sanctions by China has targeted subsidiaries of major firms, including:

  • Lockheed Martin
  • General Dynamics
  • Raytheon

These companies have been added to China’s “Unreliable Entities List.”

Know About the Chinese Sanctions on US 

China’s Ministry of Commerce announced a ban on import, export, and new investments for these firms in China. Senior managers from these companies are prohibited from entering China.

The issue arises with Taiwan! China claims  that Taiwan is a part of China. Any support to Taiwan from different nations is a threat for China. The US is not officially recognizing Taiwan but the US is supporting Taiwan by providing arms and weapons. In a recent example in Dec 2024, US President Joe Biden approved $571.3 million in defense aid for Taiwan.

Why It Matters

These arms sales to Taiwan is a matter of conflict between the US and China.  China is seeing these actions as interference in its internal affairs and this communist nation is ready to build military pressure on Taiwan. China sees every other nation as threat who is supporting Taiwan.
