Maldives Names Sareer as Ambassador to Morocco

The Maldivian president seeks to enhance diplomatic cooperation with Morocco because on Monday parliament heard official statements requesting him to appoint Ahmed Sareer as ambassador to Morocco without establishing a post there.

As Maldivian ambassador to Saudi Arabia Sareer demonstrates extensive diplomatic skills which he could utilize for Morocco. The nation named him Permanent UN Ambassador previously and he held diplomatic roles across multiple nations. The Maldivian parliament authorized Sareer to serve as a non-residential ambassador to Kuwait and Egypt with his permanent representative position to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

In late January Morocco appointed a new ambassador who traveled to Malé to submit its desired diplomatic agency. The foreign relations committee within parliament now tests President Muizzu’s diplomatic recommendations.

Sometime in the 12th century Muslim faith arrived in the Maldives through a Moroccan man. Official diplomatic relations between Morocco and the Maldives began in 1988 but appointing an ambassador strengthens their connection more than normal operations.
