Medvedev Warns of Global Threat if West Sends Nuclear Arms to Ukraine
On Tuesday senior Russian security official Dmitry Medvedev issued a warning to the West. He said that if the West supply nuclear weapons to Ukraine it would be an act of aggression and it will trigger Russia. Further it can led to a nuclear response by Russia on Ukraine. Medvedev’s message, shared on Telegram highlighted the seriousness of the situation. It is a threat for globe.
Medvedev served as president of Russia from 2008 to 2012. He made the comments on Telegram emphasizing that even the mere threat of such a transfer could be seen as preparation for nuclear war.
This warning comes after a report by New York Times. The report claims that some U.S. officials have discussed the possibility of supplying nuclear weapons to Ukraine. This report has raised concerns. Russian official Medvedev explained that this would be treated as a direct provocation under updated nuclear policy of Russia.
