Paraguay Aims to Double Beef Exports to Morocco Over Growing Agricultural Cooperation

During meeting talks this week Paraguay officials agreed to boost its beef market to Morocco. The discussions led by Parlatino Representative Carlos Alberto Núñez Salinas showcased ways to boost agriculture by having Paraguay export twice as much beef to Morocco beginning next fiscal year.

Morocco and Paraguay deepened their connection by selecting Badreddine Abd El Moumni as new ambassador while preparing to open official diplomatic offices in Asunción. Beyond exporting meat to Morocco Paraguay wants to access its agricultural technology and fertilizer supplies. Morocco takes its position as the top phosphate exporter worldwide to help Paraguay achieve its agricultural development targets.

The diplomatic relationship has made major progress since Paraguay opened its embassy in Rabat during 2010. Moroccan Foreign Minister Salaheddine Mezouar made a visit to Asunción while Moroccan authorities donated US$1 million to help Paraguayan flood victims.

Although these countries have distinct backgrounds they maintain several cooperation projects to strengthen their connections between nations. Through parliamentary diplomacy the Parlatino helps build international partnerships across different continents.
