PMs of Italy and Iraq discuss relations and collaboration

The meeting between Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al- Sudani was held in order to explore bilateral relations and collaboration in the areas of trade, water, health, and husbandry.

According to a statement issued by the media office of the Iraqi Prime Minister, Meloni stated that her sanctioned visit to Iraq heralds the morning of exemplary relations between the Italian and Iraqi peoples and that” a strong Iraq is a condition for substance and stability in the Middle East.”

Al- Sudani stated that Italy plays” a salutary part” and” clear support for Iraq in transnational forums, especially in the struggle against the Islamic State( IS) organisation through Italy’s leadership of the NATO charge in Iraq” in a common press conference following the meeting.

Meloni stressed that” Italy has always been in the first line of support for Iraq, and we’re performing this work within the frame of the coalition against IS crazies” when he told journalists that Iraq is a significant country that has made significant progress toward stabilising its security.

Before travelling to thesemi-autonomous Kurdistan region of northern Iraq to meet with Kurdish officers, the visiting Italian Prime Minister also had meetings with Abdul Latif Rashid, the chairman of Iraq, and Mohammed al- Halbousi, the speaker of the congress.
