Turkey’s Ephesus Hosts 8th International Opera and Ballet Festival

The 8th International Ephesus Opera and Ballet Festival will take place between June 27 and July 13, 2025, at the ancient theatre of Ephesus, Izmir, Türkiye, and will feature internationally recognized opera and ballet stars in one of the most renowned historical locations anywhere in the world.
This year’s program will feature legendary titles such as Swan Lake, Carmina Burana, La Traviata, Zorba, The Abduction from the Seraglio, and Aşk-ı Memnu — a Turkish opera based on a classic novel. A special offering for children, the opera Şekeronya, is also in this year’s offering.
International stars such as Daniil Simkin, Iana Salenko, and opera baritone Željko Lučić, not to mention other world-class performers will entertain under the stars
The festival has been organized by the Turkish State Opera and Ballet to further develop Türkiye as an enduring cultural tourism draw. The recently renovated Ephesus Theatre combines a unique ancient historical site with the modern comforts associated with world-class performing arts enhancing the experience for both performers and audiences.
With performers from East and West, the festival promises to provide attendees with unforgettable cultural experiences that showcase both Türkiye’s depth of culture as well as its developing global stature in the performing arts.
