Turkiye extends scholarship offer to OIC students with new Ummah Program

Türkiye is stepping up its educational ties across the Islamic world with a new exchange program called the Ummah Scholarship Program. “,” The Ummah Scholarship Program is part of a new agreement that has been signed between the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities and the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum, that marked the signing ceremony during the 51st Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation held in Istanbul on June 21.
What is the Ummah Scholarship Program?
Under this new program, students from OIC member countries will be allowed to study in some of Türkiye’s top universities for one or two semesters. It will be available for undergraduate, master’s, and PhD students, covering full costs even including living expenses. YTB President Abdullah Eren noted that these short-term student exchange experiences provide evidence of Türkiye’s dedication to assisting students of countries in rapid humanitarian crises and also illustrated in actionmatic examples of Palestine, Myanmar, and East Turkestan.
A Dream Realized with ICYF
ICYF President Taha Ayhan stated that this scholarship program has been a dream of his for quite some time. He believes youth from the Muslim world are already equipped with the talent and skills to help create change, and this program will be able to provide them with the support and opportunities they will require.
To date, ICYF has engaged with more than 15 million young people since 2019, and now, with the support of Türkiye, they aspire to bring students together in communities for stronger connections and to foster collaboration across Muslim nations.
