The Kuwaiti government has been commended for its efforts to safeguard consumers against commercial fraud by the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia and the Arab Competition Network.

According to the organisations, the actions they took have aided in fostering healthy and productive competition, the Kuwait News Agency reported on Tuesday.

In the last ten years, Kuwait’s Competition Protection Agency has made significant strides toward “regulating the local market,” according to Natalya Khaled, the head of ESCWA’s economic affairs, who spoke at a two-day conference.

She cited a slew of legislative changes as the impetus for stricter consumer protection and competition laws, which will support more effective regulatory practices.

The conference’s goal was to raise awareness of the CPA’s crucial contribution to Kuwait’s efforts to control the market and safeguard consumers from unethical business practices.
