US Strikes Houthi Targets in Yemen After Red Sea Threats
The United States military confirmed it had launched air and naval operations targeting the Houthis in Yemen following missile and drone threats in the Red Sea. These strikes affected Sanaa, the Country’s capital, and coastal regions aimed at crippling the Houthi’s- Iran backed militia’s use of assets in attacking U.S and commercial ships.
CENTCOM acknowledged the action stating that the US Navy and Air Force aircrafts engaged and blew up seven cruise missiles and unmanned aerial drones, the US did not lose any individuals or machinery.

Eyewitnesses in Sanaa said they heard several blasts with the heaviest strikes close to the defense ministry. The Houthis denounced the attacks as ‘American aggression’ in what could be seen as an extension of a US support for Israel as the Gaza conflict ensued.
