Every year, people celebrate World Food Safety Day on June 7. The day is dedicated to spreading awareness about foodborne risks and for the sustainable development of human health.
The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) established World Food Safety Day in 2018 to raise awareness about food safety across the world.
The observance across the world is facilitated by the World Health Organisation and the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO). This year’s theme is “Safer food, better health” to highlight the importance of healthier food.
