In a secret meeting between Israel’s director Mossad and the head of Qatari intelligence in Doha in the beginning of February, Netanyahu has literally begged for the billions of funding money to keep coming into Gaza.

The fact that it was a private and secret affair only raises more eyebrows over Qatar’s increasing interest in Israel. It is being confirmed that Israel is pursuing interest over Qatar’s financial aid policy with Hamas.

Yossi Cohen is the director of Mossad who along with Israeli army general Herzi Halevi met with Qatar’s intelligence chief Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Misnad – who also works as an advisor on national security to the Emir of Qatar. Halevi heads up the Israeli army’s southern operations.

Mossad is the short form of HaMossad leModiʿin uleTafkidim Meyuḥadim, the national intelligence agency of Israel. It is one of the main entities in the Israeli Intelligence.

Hamas is in control of the Gaza strip. It has never accepted the existence of Israel in the real sense. But it has kept quiet because Netanyahu had been able to get his partner Qatar to fund the Gaza strip families in various ways.

Additionally, as a militant and political organization, Hamas has continuously received funding from Iran as well. Undeniably, money sent by Qatar could have been rerouted into this activity too. Qatar has been accused of funding terrorism activities, a reason for which it was isolated from the Middle Eastern quarter in 2010.

According to Mahmoud Abbas, President of the Palestinian National Authority, “Hamas is funded by Iran. It claims it is financed by donations, but the donations are nothing like what it receives from Iran.”

Netanyahu has used his ulterior motive to pump in money at the Gaza strip, but the Islamic Jihadist who bombed Israel just a week before the March elections are not going to stop at anything because they are neither in favour of Israel and nor of Hamas. Political analysts believe that through the power of money, Qatar has found its way into the fabric of the political skirmish between Israel and Palestine; and Hamas has become a lucrative player in the whole political game that surrounds countries like Turkey, Egypt, Qatar, Israel and Iran.
