China lauds resilient ties with Russia at FMs’ meeting
China–Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said during a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on the sidelines of the Group of 20 (G20) foreign ministers’ meeting in Bali, Indonesia, on Thursday that China and Russia overcame challenges, maintained normal exchanges, and advanced cooperation in various fields in an orderly manner, demonstrating the strong resilience and strategic determination in bilateral ties amid emerging global challenges.
According to Wang, emerging nations have the common goal of opposing hegemony, bullying, and unilateralism. Will nations opt to pursue power politics and hegemony in the face of the reality of present international politics, or will they advocate for a multipolar world? Wu enquired. Will they genuinely defend the UN-centered global order or will they only adhere to regulations established by a small number of nations that meet their own standards? According to Wang, as time passes, more and more nations will have a greater understanding of this and make the best decision.
According to Lavrov, by upholding responsible stances and maintaining strategic collaboration, which is acknowledged and supported by developing countries, Russia and China have played a significant role in protecting the United Nations Charter and international law, advocating for a more equitable international order, and pushing for more democratic international relations.
