Eid 2023: Demand for tailoring services during Ramadan surges in Saudi Arabia

Eid al-Fitr is celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Eid-ul-Fitr is likely to be celebrated on Saturday in Saudi Arabia. There is a huge demand for tailoring services during the holy month of Ramadan. As the days for Eid 2023 comes near, the demand for tailoring services surges across the country.
People have started wearing custom-made clothing in Ramadan across the country. Reportedly, women’s dressmaking shops in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, have seen a huge demand for custom-made clothes in recent weeks.
According to Arab News, shops in Riyadh’s Al-Malqa district witnessed a huge demand for clothes for Eid. They had to open their shops until the early hours of Sunday morning.

Abdullah Alaa, who has a women’s dressmaking shop, reportedly told Arab News, “It’s double, even triple the work than regular days because Ramadan is when everyone is visiting and meeting, and many clients who own a business come to me with their designs, and I make it for them.”
Reportedly, there is a huge demand for white-colored thobes for men. Some tailors have also increased their prices due to higher demand for custom-made clothing. According to Loai Naseem, co-founder of Lomar, sales of polyester fabric and standard white fabric increase three times during the holy month of Ramadan because it falls during the summer season.
Reportedly, over SR4.1 billion has been invested into the Saudi textile sector to produce and manufacture clothes. The amount will support entrepreneurs of the country.
Recently, the second edition of the Men’s Fabrics and Accessories Expo was held in Riyadh by Majid bin Rafid Al-Arqoubi, Chief Executive of MODON. The amount of over SR4.1 billion was revealed in the event. MODON’s strategy is reportedly to develop more services and products. It is the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones.
