Kuwaiti women rise in STEM and cybersecurity with Zain Company

Zain Kuwait is committed to supporting women in technology and science. They have joined forces with Women in CyberSecurity Middle East (WiCSME) and Kuwait College of Science and Technology to develop CyberSHE, a first-of-its-kind program designed to enhance young women’s capabilities as it relates to cybersecurity. It is a well-established fact that women make up a minority in this field, so this is huge.
CyberSHE provides hands-on workshops to help women build skills to protect computers and information systems against attackers and hackers. In addition to the technical aspects of cybersecurity, participants received training on communication skills, team building, and leadership. Procedures were in place during the training to ensure participants received mentorship from experts and a certificate that was internationally recognized, which helped them secure great job opportunities.
Zain’s CyberSHE is part of a Women in Tech project. The project is designed to create opportunities to attract women into Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math professions to minimize the gender gap and prepare women for the future of a digital society.
Zain’s involvement has included coding schools, cybersecurity competitions, and other projects that continue to build a great technology community and diverse experience in the State of Kuwait.
Programs, like CyberSHE, allow women to gain experience, build skills, and gain confidence in technology and the future they want to shape in Kuwait.
