Morocco Approves Gaza Ceasefire Agreement as Peace Prospects Emerge
Morocco has recently supported the ceasfire in Gaza which is an important factor towards Middle East stability. The agreement that was launched by the U.S president Joe Biden includes ceasefire, the retreat of Israel from Gaza, and the prisoner swap. The latest support from Morocco increases the pace of international pressure for a sustainable solution after months of confrontation.
The deal as announced by Biden on Wednesday entails the following; a total freeze on fighting in the territories, a complete pullout by the Israelis from Gaza, and the exchange of prisoners between Israel and Hamas. The permission of the government of Israel was granted when a protracted cabinet meeting sat down and voted 24-8 in favor of the plan. Nevertheless, following the crisis, the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu informed that the framework for the release of the hostages would begin on Sunday, which saves hope for the families of the affected persons in the conflict.
This is being called one of the biggest events of the fifteen-month-long war that has devastated the Gaza Strip as well as sown the wind in the Middle East. It was not until Morocco became the latest nation to join the list of countries that support the agreement, what could be referred to as another new shift to involve the public for the sought-after peace for the region.
