Morocco Launches First Professional MMA League This June

One of many firsts for Morocco will be the Maghreb Fighting Championship which will begin on June 14, 2025. The historic occasion will take place at Complexe Sportif Bachir in Mohammedia as Morocco goes into professional mixed martial arts. In Casablanca, Turkish-Dutch entrepreneur Furkan Beltek is making this project happen to benefit local fighters and introduce their skills to the world. Moroccan athletes are delighted at how the championship has increased their recognition outside the country in MMA.
Coverage of the championship’s format and prize fund
Those at the opening gala will witness serious competition, as semifinals in both the featherweight and lightweight divisions are planned. Standout women’s bantamweight matches will earn fighters a €10,000 award which demonstrates the organization’s respect for female athletes.
Expectations for the event are that over 4,000 people will watch live, cheering on Moroccan and international fighters. Early on, the event strategy consists of monthly tournaments for various weight categories to form a stable way to compete.
Accessibility and what is being planned in the future
Anyone who supports fighting sports can watch the event live on YouTube, with anyone around the world able to take part. At present, 100 dirham tickets for early access are on sale on the organization’s official social platforms.
Through the MFC initiative, Moroccan mixed martial artists will have steady opportunities to build their careers professionally.
