Israel’s i24news aired the second part of its documentary on Thursday, focusing on what it calls “hate speech” against Tel Aviv from Egypt. The report raised concerns about Egypt’s military buildup and its messaging directed toward Israel.
This documentary is indicating that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi often delivers speeches targeting Israel. The documentary also raises questions about the growing military power of Egypt. The highlighted the banner of “peace sponsorship,” despite 45 years of peace between the two countries.
Title of the documentary is “The Egyptian Volcano.” This documentary highlighted fears about the growing regional influence and military strength of Egypt. This report is claiming that this growing power could present new risks for Israel along its Egyptian front.
An Israeli political analyst Baruch Yadid featured in the documentary explored how military of Egypt has grown significantly since its peace treaty with Israel. He pointed out that Egypt now has one of the most powerful armies in the Middle East. While Yadid acknowledged that Egypt does not seek reckless conflicts he emphasized the delicate balance in Israel-Egypt relations especially after recent regional tensions.
